Wednesday, October 6, 2010

  1. AC47 — Proposed Revisions to the Acceptance Criteria for Structural Wood-based Products. Revisions are proposed to include provisions for thermally modified wood in the criteria. This subject was previously considered by the Evaluation Committee in June 2010. Click here.

  2. AC428 — Proposed Acceptance Criteria for Modular Framing Systems Used to Support Photovoltaic (PV) Modules. A new criteria is proposed for modular framing systems used to support photovoltaic (PV) modules. Click here.

  3. AC377 — Proposed Revisions to the Acceptance Criteria for Spray-applied Foam Plastic Insulation. Revisions are proposed to include language that provides clarification regarding measurement and reporting of spray foam depth during fire testing, include ASTM E 970 in Section 3.4.4 as a method to qualify spray-applied polyurethane foam with or without ignition barriers for use on attic floors, include a requirement that coating thickness must be measured using a dry-film method, revise Section 3.6.4 to permit low density spray-applied foam plastic insulations to be conditioned for 7 days at 75 ºF dry heat in lieu of 180 days at 75°F as currently required, revise the conditions of use to clarify that single-component foams need not be installed by contractors certified by the report holder and to clarify the qualifications of contractors installing other types of spray foams, require all sloped or flat surfaces in attics have intumescent coatings if the walls or vertical surfaces of the test rooms were tested with intumescent coatings, to include a new section under Section 5.0 to require that evaluation reports describe details of assemblies that are tested in accordance with NFPA 285 when evaluated for use in exterior walls of Type I through Type IV construction, and to change to Section 3.6.3 to clarify that R-values for thicknesses between the minimum and maximum thicknesses tested must be based on interpolation. Click here.
  1. AC129 — Proposed Revisions to the Acceptance Criteria for Steel Moment Frame Connection Systems. Revisions are proposed to address the 2009 International Codes, include reference to AWS D1.1 and D1.8 in Section 1.3, add statements indicating that steel and welding materials must comply with the requirement in the applicable referenced standards in the IBC, and incorporate specific, separate references to the 2006 and 2009 IBC concerning special inspection requirements. Click here.
  1. AC422 Proposed Acceptance Criteria for Semicontinuous Fiber-reinforced Grid Connectors Used in Combination with Rigid Insulation in Concrete Sandwich Panels. A new criteria is proposed for semi-continuous fiber-reinforced grid connectors that are combined with rigid insulation to transfer shear stresses in insulated concrete sandwich panels. This subject was previously considered by the Evaluation Committee in February and June 2010. Click here.

  1. AC232 Proposed Acceptance Criteria for Anchor Channels in Concrete Elements. A new criteria is proposed for anchor channels in concrete which will address application, design and installation by considering the performance of the anchorage, the steel channel, and the steel bolt or screw. This subject was previously considered by the Evaluation Committee in June 2010. Click here.

  2. AC193 - Proposed Revisions to the Acceptance Criteria for Mechanical Anchors in Concrete Elements. Revisions are proposed to cite ASTM F606-06 and make accompanying modifications to the criteria to provide clearer guidance for the evaluation of ductility and to add new provisions to the criteria to address the application of anchors installed in the topside of steel deck assemblies. Click here.
  1. AC156 — Proposed Revisions to the Acceptance Criteria for Seismic Qualification by Shake Table Testing of Nonstructural Components and Systems. Revisions are proposed to revise the title and content of the criteria to refer to seismic certification instead of seismic qualification and add nonbuilding structures to the scope of the criteria, address the 2006 and 2009 International Codes, remove references to the Uniform Building Code, add a reference to ASCE 7-10, and reformat the entire criteria. Click here.

  2. AC230 Proposed Revisions to the Acceptance Criteria for the Power-driven Pins for Shear Wall Assemblies with Cold-formed Steel Framing and Wood Structural Panels. Revisions are proposed to address the 2009 International Codes, remove testing requirements that are considered unnecessary, clarify testing and analysis requirements, to expand the scope of the criteria beyond “site built” construction, and expand and clarify the requirements for evaluation reports. This subject was previously considered by the Evaluation Committee on the June 2010 alternate agenda. Click here.

  3. AC43 Proposed Revisions to the Acceptance Criteria for Steel Deck Roof and Floor Systems. Revisions are proposed to address the 2009 International Codes, include reference to new AISI test standards, and to revise portions of Section 4.1 to eliminate the waiver for testing for interior reactions and testing of thicker panels. This subject was previously considered by the Evaluation Committee in February and June 2010. Click here.
