  1. AC442 — Proposed Acceptance Criteria for Spray-applied Sealants. A new criteria is proposed to establish requirements for spray-applied sealants that are used in one or more of the following applications: to maintain the integrity of penetrations in combustible fireblocking, as an alternative to foam plastic insulation applied to sill plates and headers in Type V construction, or to limit air infiltration in penetrations and paths of air leakage in the building envelope. Click here.

  2. AC180 — Proposed Revisions to the Acceptance Criteria for Clay and Concrete Roof Tiles. Revisions are proposed to update the criteria to include the 2012 codes and delete the UBC, allow permeability testing to be conducted to the 2011 edition of ASTM C 1167 as an alternative to testing in accordance with the 2003 edition, and update the quality control requirements to reflect changes made to AC304. Click here. (Updated)

  3. AC264 — Proposed Revisions to the Acceptance Criteria for Wood Structural Panels Laminated with an Inert, Inorganic Fire Shield. Revisions are proposed to update the criteria to include the 2012 codes, add a definition for “inert, inorganic fire shield”, add provisions to allow recognition of the product for use in exterior walls of buildings of Type III-A construction, and incorporate editorial revisions. Click here.

  4. AC48 — Proposed Revisions to the Acceptance Criteria for Roof Underlayments for Use as an Ice Barrier in Severe Climate Areas. Revisions are proposed to update the criteria to include the 2012 codes and delete the UBC; revise the title and scope of the criteria to better align it with the terminology and ice barrier provisions of the IBC and IRC; clarify requirements for use in fire classified roofing and use with adhesively attached roofing tiles; delete the requirements for temperature-cycling and water percolation testing; update the quality control requirements to reflect changes made to AC304; update referenced standards; and incorporate editorial improvements. Click here.

  5. AC188 — Proposed Revisions to the Acceptance Criteria for Roof Underlayments. Revisions are proposed to update the criteria to include the 2009 and 2012 codes and delete the UBC; clarify that the criteria provides an alternate means to qualify self-adhered membranes as roofing underlayments; clarify that the products may be optionally qualified for additional uses such as with fire classified roofing, as an ice barrier when two layers are cemented together, and with adhesively attached roofing tiles as well as setting forth requirements to address how these applications can be qualified; update referenced standards; update quality control requirements to reflect changes made to AC304; add a requirement that a condition of use be included in evaluation reports to clarify how fire classification requirements of the codes were addressed; and seek input as to whether future revisions to the criteria should delete the condition of use limiting the underlayments to roofs having vented attic spaces. Click here.

  6. AC207 — Proposed Revisions to the Acceptance Criteria for Polypropylene Roof Underlayments. Revisions are proposed to update the criteria to include the 2006, 2009 and 2012 codes and delete the UBC and 2003 codes; update referenced standards; clarify how the underlayment may be used and installed as an ice barrier when two layers are cemented together; editorially revise the criteria to replace rupture resistance with fastener pull-through resistance; clarify how the underlayments may be optionally qualified for use with fire classified roofing; editorially revise the quality control requirements to reflect changes made to AC304; add a requirement that a condition of use be included in evaluation reports to clarify how fire classification requirements of the codes were addressed; and add a requirement that evaluation reports limit the use of the underlayments to use on roofs with vented attics as well as seek input on the need to maintain this limitation considering that unvented assemblies are now permitted in the IRC. 1. AC177 — Proposed Revisions to the Acceptance Criteria for Translucent Fiberglass Reinforced Plastic (FRP) Faced Panel Wall, Roof and Skylight Systems. Revisions are proposed to update the criteria to include the 2009 and 2012 codes; add an alternative procedure for weather exposure testing; revise the conditions of acceptance for tensile, elongation and flexural testing; allow the use of ASTM E 330, Procedure B as an alternative method for transverse load testing; delete the requirement for temperature cycling testing; allow the use of ASTM E 331 as an alternative method for water penetration testing; revise the requirements for the burning brand portion of the fire classification testing; revise the conditions of acceptance for the ignition properties and rate of burn testing; and add testing requirements needed to establish the interior finish classification of the product. A prior edition of this criteria was posted on the August 2011 alternative criteria process for public comment. Click here.

  2. AC441 — Proposed Acceptance Criteria for Epoxy Adhesives Used With Thin Stone Veneer and Ceramic Tile. A new criteria is proposed to address epoxy adhesives used with thin stone veneer and ceramic tile. Click here.

  3. AC308 — Proposed Revisions to the Acceptance Criteria for Post-Installed Adhesive Anchors. Revisions are proposed to clarify that the provisions for the assessment of multiple anchors in Annex A, Section 4.5.1 apply to threaded rods, not reinforcing bars; clarify that test specimens used for the punch tests included in the durability assessment provisions of Annex A, Section 9.8 must be tested within a certain time period from being removed from storage and that moisture content within that time period must not be allowed to decline; and incorporate editorial revisions. Click here.

  4. AC70 — Proposed Revisions to the Acceptance Criteria for Fasteners Power-Driven into Concrete, Steel and Masonry Elements. Revisions are proposed to update the criteria to include the 2012 codes, partially reinstate Table 2 from earlier editions of the criteria to address wood sill plate attachments and include similar provisions for steel framed walls, and revise Section 3.3.1 to clarify that the adjustment factor for the base material is to be treated separately from the adjustment factor for the fastener. This subject was previously considered by the Evaluation Committee in October 2011. Click here.

  5. AC120 — Proposed Revisions to the Acceptance Criteria for Wood Screws Used in Horizontal Diaphragms, Shear Walls and Braced Walls. Revisions are proposed to require full-scale diaphragm/shear wall testing when screw fasteners have penetrations less than the minimum, code-prescribed nail penetrations; revise provisions concerning mean slip from lateral load testing; clarify that the small-scale testing is required for applications in all seismic design categories; define code-prescribed nails; clarify fastener penetrations; clarify inspection requirements; and make editorial revisions. This issue was held for further study at the June 2011 meeting and comments received during the June 2011 hearing were incorporated into proposed revisions that were posted on the August 2011 alternative criteria process for public comment.
