  1. AC166 — Proposed Revisions to the Acceptance Criteria for Metal Roof Coverings. Revisions are proposed to update the criteria to the 2012 codes, add the 2006 codes, discontinue recognition under the 2003 codes and the UBC, update the wind resistance requirements, update the fire classification requirements to address the 2012 and 2009 codes and apply those requirements to evaluations done to the 2006 codes.   2. AC377 — Public Notification of Alternative Methods for Qualifying Spray-applied Foam Plastic Insulation Used in Attics without a Prescriptive Ignition Barrier. ICC-ES staff is notifying industry and seeking input on how we intend to evaluate spray-applied foam plastic insulations used in unvented residential attics using Section 3.12 of the criteria.   3. AC385 — Proposed Reinstatement (with revisions) of the Acceptance Criteria for Special-purpose Sprinkler Heads Used with Fixed Glazed Assemblies to Provide a Fire-resistance-rated Wall Assembly. It is proposed that the criteria be reinstated and revised to include recognition under the 2012 and 2009 codes. At its June 2011 meeting, the Evaluation Committee declined to approve revisions that were proposed to the criteria at that time and voted to withdraw the criteria that was in effect at that time.   4. AC12Public Notification Regarding Qualification of Reformulated Foam Plastic Insulation to Meet the Requirements of AC12 (Acceptance Criteria for Foam Plastic Insulation). ICC-ES staff is notifying industry and seeking input on the requirements it intends to implement concerning qualifying a formulation from HBCD fire retardant to a new fire retardant. Click here.

  5. AC353 — Proposed Revisions to the Acceptance Criteria for Stay-in-place, Foam Plastic Insulating Concrete Form (ICF) Systems for Solid Concrete Walls. Revisions are proposed to update the criteria to the 2012 codes, harmonize the requirements of the criteria with ASTM E2634-10 and extend the requirements of the standard to waffle-grid ICFs, and apply the requirements of the criteria to all products recognized under AC353 regardless of code edition.   6. AC47 —Proposed Revisions to the Acceptance Criteria for Structural Wood-Based Products. The ICC-ES staff is proposing revisions to the criteria that will eliminate the use of the 1.67 compression perpendicular to grain adjustment factor noted in Table 1 of ASTM D5456 when determining the allowable design stress in the flat-wise orientation in accordance with Section 7 of ASTM D5456.   7. AC368 — Public Notification Regarding Alternate Seismic Qualification of Suspended Ceiling Systems in Accordance with the Acceptance Criteria for Suspended Ceiling Framing Systems.   1. AC232 — Proposed Revisions to the Acceptance Criteria for Anchor Channels in Concrete Elements. Revisions are proposed to the torque testing and the splitting due to installation testing requirements. Editorial revisions are also proposed. Click here.

  2. AC308 — Proposed Revisions to the Acceptance Criteria for Post-Installed Adhesive Anchors in Concrete Elements. Revisions are proposed to the slice tests in Section 9.8.3 of Annex A; the simulated seismic tension test in Section 9.12.2 of Annex A; and to Sections 3.0, 9.9 and 11.8, as well as Tables 4.1 and 4.2, regarding the corner test.   3. AC440 — Proposed Acceptance Criteria for Using an Equivalency Approach to Verify Seismic Design Parameters for Lateral-Force-Resisting Vertical Wood Truss Wall Assemblies. A new criteria is proposed to provide requirements confirming the use of metal-plated wooden trusses, referred to as wood truss wall assemblies (WRWA), as substitutes for in-plane shear-resisting vertical components (shear walls) of an otherwise code-complying lateral force-resisting system.   4. AC259 —Proposed Revisions to the Acceptance Criteria for Power-Driven Pins for Attaching Gypsum Board Materials to Cold-formed Steel Wall Framing. Revisions are proposed to base allowable pullout values on the more conservative result from wall assembly testing with the thickest CFS wall framing and the wall assembly testing with the thinnest CFS wall framing, delete provisions pertaining to legacy codes, expand the scope of the criteria to address the use of power-driven fasteners for attaching gypsum board materials to CFS of interior walls, clarify that the criteria is limited to the evaluation of negative transverse load capacity, delete all mention of strength design, remove definitions of commonly understood terms, and expand quality control requirements in response to Evaluation Committee action on MISC1-0811-R1 and clarify documentation requirements for fasteners.   5. AC70 — Proposed Revisions to the Acceptance Criteria for Fasteners Power-driven into Concrete, Steel and Masonry Elements. Revisions are proposed to include the 2009 and 2006 codes so that a single criteria addresses evaluation to the 2012, 2009, and 2006 codes, to apply the more permissive statements allowed by ASCE/SEI 7-10 regarding the use of the fasteners to resist seismic codes to the 2009 and 2006 codes, revise the scope of the criteria so that it is applicable to lower steel thickness, remove conditional statements corresponding to distributed systems where fasteners are placed in steel materials, allow for the use of the fasteners with base materials other than steel, and revise requirements for quality control to indicate the level of technical information to be included in the quality documentation.   6. AC120 — Proposed Revisions to the Acceptance Criteria for Wood Screws Used in Horizontal Diaphragms, Shear Walls and Braced Walls. Revisions are proposed to change the title of the criteria to reflect revisions being proposed that expand the scope of the criteria to apply to fasteners other than wood screws and revise the scope of the criteria such that it is not a stand-alone criteria, modify the requirements for the full-scale cyclic testing of shear walls in Seismic Design Categories higher than B, modify the purpose and requirements for bending yield strength testing and analysis of the fasteners, allow either OSB or plywood to justify recognition of assemblies with either type of wood structural panel, and include a requirement for a full-scale shear wall deformation assessment.   7. AC269.1 — Proposed Acceptance Criteria for Proprietary Sheathing Attached to Wood Light-framed Wall Construction Used as Braced Wall Panels under the IRC. A new criteria is proposed which will update the wall bracing provisions for wood frame construction of AC269 to the 2009 IRC. A prior edition of this criteria was posted on the ICC-ES website for public comment using the June 2011 alternative criteria process and this subject was previously considered by the Evaluation Committee in October 2011.
