  1. AC232 — Proposed Revisions to the Acceptance Criteria for Anchor Channels in Concrete Elements. Revisions are proposed to clarify the strength reduction factors in the criteria; incorporate an editorial change regarding the modification factor for splitting; modify the criteria to include mention of bolts as anchors in Sections 1.3.4; modify the requirements for channel bolts to be tested in Section 7.4.2, delete test series 9 of Table 9 of Annex A and replace it with a fixed exponent for interaction; and incorporate changes that will allow for recognition of shear loads acting in the longitudinal axis of the channel for both static and cycling loads. 1. AC446 — Proposed Revisions to the Acceptance Criteria for Headed Cast-in Specialty Inserts in Concrete Elements. Revisions are proposed to incorporate needed editorial corrections, incorporate a new exception in Section 3.8.2 to waive testing requirements of standard grades of anchor rods, and delete Sections 3.4.4 through 3.4.7 and include a new Table 2 in order to ensure that failure by head separation and thread stripping do not occur. 2. AC385 — Proposed Revisions to the Acceptance Criteria for Special-purpose Sprinklers Used with Fixed Glazed Assemblies to Provide an Alternative to a Fire-resistance-rated Wall Assembly. Revisions are proposed to update the criteria to the 2015 I-Codes; modify Section 5.1.8 to allow removal of the “pony” wall when testing of an assembly without the “pony” wall is conducted in accordance with Section 3.1 of the criteria; modify Section 5.1.11 to allow use of the assemblies as fire barriers in the construction of exit-passage ways, horizontal exits, or exit enclosures when the “fire area” in which the assembly is located to be fully sprinkered or has been tested without a pony wall or other protection from combustible materials and add provisions outlining the documentation the registered design professional must provide to the code official; and other clarifying changes considered to be editorial. Portions of this proposal were considered by the Evaluation Committee in October 2014. Click here.

  3. AC212 — Proposed Revisions to the Acceptance Criteria for Water-resistive Coatings Used as Water-restive Barriers Over Exterior Sheathing. Revisions are proposed to update the criteria to the 2015 I-codes, including technical revisions to include the two exceptions to the requirement for fire testing to NFPA 285 in 2015 IBC Section 1403.5 and incorporate changes in 2015 IBC Section 2510.6 to require the water-resistive barrier used behind the stucco comply with ASTM E2556 for either Type I or Type II, depending on the design of the wall. The proposal also includes provisions for recognition of water-resistive coatings when used as a vapor permeable barrier as indicated in IBC Section 2510.6 or IRC Section R703.6.3. The ICC-ES staff sought input from interested parties concerning some of the issues related to this proposal under the October 2014 alternative criteria development process agenda. Click here.
  1. AC47-R1-2 — Proposed Revisions to the Acceptance Criteria for Structural Wood-based Products. Revisions are proposed to add a new section to the criteria to establish requirements for the evaluation of optional factory-applied fire-retardant overlays or coatings applied to structural wood based products. This subject was previously considered by the Evaluation Committee in October 2014. Click here.

  2. AC326 — Proposed New Appendix for the Acceptance Criteria for Proprietary Wood Preservative Systems — Common Requirements for Treatment Process, Test Methods, and Performance — Wood Glueline Preservative Systems Appendix K. A new appendix to this criteria is proposed to evaluate wood glueline preservative systems used to fabricate structural wood composites. This subject was previously considered by the Evaluation Committee in October 2014 and portions of this proposal were introduced under the June 2014 alternative criteria development process agenda. Click here.
  1. AC455 — Proposed New Acceptance Criteria for Cross-laminated Timber Panels for Use as Components of Floor and Roof Decks. A new criteria is proposed to establish requirements for cross-laminated timber panels used as components for floor and roof decks. Portions of this proposal were introduced under the August 2014 alternative criteria development process agenda. Click here.
