Items for the June 2016 Evaluation Committee Meeting

Tuesday, June 7, 2016

  1. AC308 — Proposed Revisions to the Acceptance Criteria for Post-installed Adhesive Anchors in Concrete Elements. Revisions are proposed to change the language concerning the establishment of the imposed displacement requirement for the seismic cycling tests of reinforcing bars and to set a lower limit on the cycling time to avoid strain rate effects; revise the requirements on the size of the concrete test specimen for round robin testing and add a requirement that tests be conducted in a single test specimen; clarify that batch requirements do not apply to the seismic tests described in Sections 8.12 and 8.13; add a new table and new sections to establish reduced testing requirements for the addition of metric/fractional anchor elements to an existing or a new ICC-ES evaluation report where a complete test program has been performed on one or the other anchor element type; and add a new section to verify the effectiveness the adhesive anchor system. 4. AC262 — Proposed Revisions to the Acceptance Criteria for Horizontal Diaphragms Consisting of Wood Structural Panel Sheathing Attached to Cold-formed Steel Framing. Revisions are proposed to update the criteria to the 2015, 2012 and 2009 IBC and revise the criteria to rely on comparative small scale testing to qualify fasteners as alternatives to the self-drilling tapping screws prescribed in Table D2-1 of AISI S213 (departing from requiring full-scale diaphragm testing). Portions of this proposal were introduced under the December 2015 alternative criteria development process agenda. Click here.
