ICC Evaluation Service Experiences Record-Setting Growth in 2014

ICC Evaluation Service (ICC-ES) 2014 first quarter activity is up 25% compared to the same period one year ago. The growth is attributed to a new business model that reduced the time it took to evaluate products and generate evaluation reports and PMG listings, and a renewed focus on customer service.

“Our customers have always known that an ICC-ES report tells code officials, designers, engineers and others that their product has been rigorously evaluated to the highest of standards and meets code,” said ICC-ES President Shahin Moinian. “Now our customers are recognizing the benefits of being able to get their products into the marketplace quicker thanks to faster turnaround times with the same quality ICC-ES evaluation reports and listings.”

All three of ICC-ES’ major programs play a role in the growth of ICC-ES. The Plumbing, Mechanical and Fuel Gas (PMG) program offers certification to the International Plumbing (IPC®) and Pool and Spa Codes (ISPSC®), the EPA WaterSense® program and an expanded scope from the Standards Council of Canada (SCC). The PMG program now offers product certification to the low-lead laws and joint solar thermal certifications with the Solar Rating and Certification Corporation (SRCC). The ICC-ES Evaluation Report program earned the Western States Seismic Policy Council (WSSPC) 2014 Non Profit Agency Efforts Award in ExcellenceAnd the recently launched Building Product Listing Program is quickly gaining new customers as construction industry manufacturers respond to having the ICC-ES listing mark stand behind their product listings.
