ICC-ES, CSTB, and DIBt form the Alliance of
Product Evaluation Experts

Alliance to Streamline Evaluation Processes for Product Manufacturers in the U.S. and Europe

As a result of ongoing collaboration, three leading global evaluation and certification bodies, the Centre Scientifique et Technique du Batiment (CSTB - France), Deutsches Institut für Bautechnik (DIBt - Germany), and the ICC Evaluation Service (ICC-ES – U.S.), further expanded their cooperation  in order to meet the needs of their joint clients.

By aligning resources and expertise, the alliance streamlines and adds more value to customers, bridging code conformity gaps that product manufacturers may face when seeking building and plumbing product certifications in the U.S. and Europe.

“We are very proud to be part of this new alliance of evaluation experts, working collaboratively to help reduce any code conformity issues manufacturers may face, in both the United States and Europe,” said ICC‑ES President Shahin Moinian, P.E. “Together, we will increase efficiency in product evaluation and testing.”

“CSTB is thrilled to be part of this group, allowing manufacturers to apply for reports simultaneously in the United States and Europe,” said CSTB Director of International Affairs Bruno Mesureur. “Streamlining the evaluation process will add value to product manufacturers by improving their speed-to-market.”

“This collaboration will be a key factor in harmonizing European Assessment Documents with ICC‑ES acceptance criteria, benefiting manufacturers seeking evaluation reports and testing in the United States and Europe,” said DIBt Vice-President Karsten Kathage. “Each organization will bring a wealth of experience, knowledge and expertise, forming a strong alliance.”
